Cover: The Path Ahead

I like to take a short break between chapters; however, we should have enough of a buffer to keep up the pace of one page a week. The next six pages of HELM Chapter 10: The Path Ahead are currently being lettered. They should be ready by the coming Tuesday, so hopefully we’ll be able to continue with our regularly scheduled program.

What lies ahead? I’m particularly happy with how this chapter comes together and concludes. It’s the final chapter of Book 2: Pathfinder and there are a lot of story threads that need to be neatly tied up before the end. That can very challenging to do in only 26 pages but I think I managed that. Additionally, Book 2 hasn’t seen a lot of action (in comparison to Book 1) — that’s because I needed to spend more time with the characters — however, there’s more than enough action in this next chapter to make up for it.

Some additional thoughts —

“The Path Ahead” isn’t all that creative a title. I had a few alternatives but went with this because it ties nicely with the “Book 2: Pathfinder” theme. It’s also a key phrase Luna uses in Chapter 3 (also in the animated trailer). There’s more to the phrase… but I can’t reveal more than I already have without spoiling things.
