HELM in the Press
/(For Release on Wed, 8/17/16)
LOS ANGELES, CA -- Crookshaw Creative is proud to announce today the launch of HELM, its first free and highly anticipated webcomic series. The release of HELM is accompanied by the launch of the comic's official website and a fully animated teaser trailer.
HELM is a webcomic series set in an ancient fantasy world that has undergone an industrial revolution in the past 200-300 years. Racism and riots run rampant, "magick-makers" are mercilessly hunted, the elves have all but been eradicated, and rumors of rebellion stir amongst the half-breeds and downtrodden people of the Commonwealth.
The story follows a notorious witch called LUNA LUMERE, wanted for a laundry list of "crimes against the Commonwealth" as she evades capture and sneaks aboard a train carrying ELDRICK SPELLSONG, JR. Eldrick, unbeknownst to himself, is a "magick-maker" and destined to become the Great Wizard of a new age -- one who will guide his allies to the hiding place of the long lost BASTARD KING. It is believed that the slumbering king, once awoken, will overthrow the LORD HELM and crown a new leader in his place.
Starting immediately, readers can visit the website and embark on their journey across the world of HELM. The first 9 pages of Chapter 1 are available now. Moving forward, the story continues each Tuesday and Thursday when a new page is added. Between days, fans can follow Crookshaw Creative on Facebook and Twitter to get behind the scenes updates.
HELM is written and developed by Jehanzeb Hasan, a game industry veteran currently based in Los Angeles, CA and the San Francisco Bay Area. It is illustrated by Mauricio Caballero, a Mexico City based artist whose range of experience spans multiple comics, television shows, and film projects.
